Presidency School Bangalore South's Spectacular

Sports Meet February 9,2011

 

On a splendid Wednesday morning all roads led to Presidency School Bangalore South. Enthusiastic parents thronged the venue to witness UDAAN, the third Annual Sports Meet and Drill Display.

The venue, with its myriad of colours, welcomed one and all. The programme unfolded with one spectacular event after another. The proud parents sat in awe and witnessed these events with a sense of pride.

Mr. Nissar Ahmed, Chairman, Presidency Group of Institutions was the chief guest. On arrival, the honorable chief guest was presented the Guard of Honour by the school cabinet.

The Chief Guest was escorted to the dais by the dignitaries of the Presidency Group. The unfurling of the school flag, inspection of the contingents and the oath taking ceremony, formed an integral part of the sports meet, instilling a feeling of oneness and solidarity.

The March Past, accompanied by the school band, was the most colorful and exuberant pageant, led by Mohan Krishna, the head boy, Roshni, the vice captain, Aditya Chavli, the sports captain and the captains of Agni, Vayu, Akash and Prithvi.

It was a delight to watch the young ones of grade II and III march in a procession to the tune of SARE JAHAN SE ACHHA, followed by the ‘NANNA MUNNA RAHIS of grade I and II waving their gleamimg pompoms. The welcome song and the welcome dance, the colourful displays put up by the students, enthralled the spectators.

Salman Ahmed of grade IX read out the school sport report and impressed the audience with his oratory skills. Mr. Thangadurai, Director, Presidency Group of Schools, in his speech complimented the staff and the students for putting up such a wonderful show. The Management Representative, Miss Nafeesa Ahmed, felicitated Mr. Chandrashekhar, Sports Manager, Presidency Group of Institutions for his unstinted loyal support and unlimited contributions towards the betterment of sports in the Presidency Group of Schools.

The arrival of the Presidency Torch and the Oath taking ceremony, the Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest. The release of colourful balloons and the pigeons spread hues of a rainbow in the sky.. The fire cracker show heralded a day full of fun and frolic. The thunderous applause from the crowd echoed throughout the school.

The prize distribution received thunderous applause from the students’ quarters. The VAYU HOUSE broke into a victory lap after winning the Championship Trophy for their stellar performance.
