Houses

Students of Grades 1 to 12 along with their teachers of Presidency Schools are divided into houses to facilitate the drive towards creating more student-led activities and initiatives while harbouring the sense of team spirit. The primary objective of the house system is to create a sense of pride and identity within the school community. Students representing one of the four houses are given
manifold opportunities to develop a team spirit that highlights leadership, communication, organisational and collaborative skills in a practical and engaging way.

The House names have been chosen to bring to fore the School vision of holistic development.

Tagore – Assimilate Create-

Rabindranath Tagore, a polymath and the first non-European Nobel laureate in Literature, was a visionary poet, philosopher, and artist from India. His ideology was deeply rooted in the belief that true progress and enlightenment come from embracing diverse cultures, ideas, and perspectives. The motto “Assimilate Create” captures Tagore’s philosophy, emphasizing the importance of embracing the richness of human experiences, fostering cultural harmony, and using creativity as a means to reshape society for the better.

Curie – Beyond Possible

Marie Curie, a renowned physicist and chemist, is a name synonymous with groundbreaking discoveries and pioneering spirit. With an insatiable curiosity and an unyielding determination, Curie pushed the boundaries of scientific understanding, forever changing our perception of the world. Her ideology was rooted in the belief that no challenge is insurmountable and that the pursuit of knowledge knows no limits. Curie’s vision encompassed a future where humanity ventures beyond the confines of what is deemed possible, embracing the unknown and unlocking the secrets of the universe.

The motto “Beyond Possible” encapsulates Curie’s unwavering faith in human potential and her unwavering resolve to transcend the boundaries of what is known.

 

The Blue House

Pele – Ever Onward

 

Pele, the legendary Brazilian footballer, stands as a symbol of relentless determination, indomitable spirit, and unwavering commitment to excellence. His ideology revolved around the idea that success is not a destination but a journey, and it can only be achieved through unwavering dedication and continuous improvement. Pele’s vision extended beyond the boundaries of the football field, aiming to inspire generations and bring people together through the universal language of sports.

The motto “Ever Onward” embodies Pele’s philosophy, urging individuals to persistently push their limits, overcome obstacles, and strive for greatness in every endeavor, not only in sports but in life as a whole.

 

The Yellow House

Da Vinci – Change Constant

 

Leonardo da Vinci, a true Renaissance polymath, personified the idea of constant change and adaptation. He was not only a visionary artist but also a scientist, engineer, and philosopher. Da Vinci’s ideology embraced the ever-evolving nature of knowledge and the inherent interconnectedness of various disciplines. His vision encompassed a world where curiosity fuels progress, where the boundaries between art and science blur, and where innovation is a constant force reshaping society.

The motto “Change Constant” encapsulates Da Vinci’s belief that embracing change and embracing new ideas are the keys to unlocking human potential and achieving greatness in every aspect of life.

The ‘House Warden’ of each of the houses is assisted by the ‘House teachers’, the elected House Captain, Vice-Captain and House Prefects. The House members or the students enlisted in these houses, battle it out through the year for the Championship Trophy. Arrival to the School on time, competing in competitions, running that extra mile etc. help students garner House points, that get added to their tally, week on week.
